Check Out “A World Without Cancer”

As a diagnostic radiologist watching patients, friends, and family suffer and die with cancer, Margaret I. Cuomo, M.D., was inspired to seek out new strategies for waging a smarter war on cancer. Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is featured in her new book, A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER: The Making of a New Cure and the Real Promise of Prevention, as an organization that is funding innovative research and investing in the early careers of scientists so they stay in the field.

According to Dr. Cuomo, “A World Without Cancer is a call for action to all of us to encourage government and private research centers to find safe new ways of detecting cancers, including ovarian cancer, in the earliest stages, and also, to adopt effective strategies to prevent cancer. Organizations like Ovarian Cancer Research Fund create a healthier, more vibrant society – and help end the suffering and loss of life due to devastating diseases such as ovarian cancer.”

Her provocative book reveals intriguing new information through an analysis of over 40 years of medical evidence and interviews with the nation’s top cancer doctors, researchers, drug company executives, and health policy advisors. The book has garnered significant media coverage.

Heather, thank you for bringing this book to my attention. It really makes the point that we have hardly made progress when it comes to deaths from cancer and after paying billions of dollars we are no closer to a cure. I found the link that let me sample pages of the book at: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/sample/read/9781609618858
    Thanks again!-Susan
