CALL YOUR SENATORS TODAY

Action Needed by April 18th Deadline!

Call your Senators today and urge them to help end breast cancer by responding to the Dear Colleague letter currently being circulated by Senators Harkin (D-IA), Leahy (D-VT), Snowe (R-ME), and Collins (R-ME).

The Dear Colleague letter asks Senators to sign a letter to the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman and Ranking Member calling for $150 million in appropriations for the Department of Defense (DOD) Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) for FY2013.

Your networks should be activated right away to contact both Senators in your state to urge them to show their support for ending breast cancer by signing. The deadline for signing the letter is Wednesday, April 18th!

Your Senators need to hear from you immediately.  All Senators should be contacted.  Let them know how important this program is to breast cancer research and urge them to sign the letter. If a Senator has questions you can’t answer, let us know and we’ll follow-up.

Your message is: I urge you to show your support for ending breast cancer by signing the letter to the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman and Ranking Member calling for $150 million in appropriations, for the DOD peer-reviewed Breast Cancer Research Program for FY 2013.

If your Senator agrees to sign the letter, her/his staff should email one of the following letter sponsor staffers to make it happen:

Joseph Jones in Senator Harkin’s office, Kathryn Toomajian in Senator Leahy’s office, Amy Pellegrino in Senator Snowe’s office or Priscilla Hanley in Senator Susan Collins’ office.

Email Kathryn Johnson or call her at 202-973-0579 to let her know that your Senator(s) agreed to sign the letter or if you have questions.

As always, thank you for all that you do!
