Proposition 29 Cancer Research Proposition Coming to the Ballot in California

If you know someone in California, tell them to vote Yes on Prop 29, supporting at $1 tax per pack of cigarettes to fund cancer research, education and prevention programs that will save lives!

In California, tobacco usage results in a staggering $9.2 billion in health care expenditures, and is the leading cause of cancer, heart disease and chronic respiratory ailments. But at just 87 cents per pack, California’s tobacco tax is among the lowest in the U.S. With Prop 29, Californians have the opportunity to raise $855 million annually to fund research, education and prevention programs and lead the fight against cancer, heart and lung disease.
